Guidebook to 60 half to full-day walks in the south Lake District. Walking areas include Rydal, Grasmere, Langdale, Little Langdale, Coniston, Torver and the south, Grizedale, Satterthwaite, the Rusland Valley, Winster Valley, Troutbeck, Kentmere, Longsleddale and across to Tebay. Part of a three-volume series, focusing on short, low-level walks.
This guidebook describes 50 day walks across the North Pennines, England's remotest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty taking in parts of Cumbria, County Durham and Northumberland. Most of the routes are circular and they range from 5 to 14 miles, with something to suit all abilities. Route descriptions are accompanied by 1:50K OS mapping.
A guidebook to 40 walks, from 3 to 11 miles, exploring the Lune Valley and Howgill Fells, some of the most unspoilt countryside in northwest England. Set between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales and two other AONBs, the walking is hugely rewarding, near the centres of Sedbergh, Kirkby Lonsdale, Kendal and Lancaster.
Guidebook to 40 easy to moderate walks in the English county of Norfolk. Circular routes of 4-12 miles show off the area's surprisingly varied landscape: the Broads, Brecks and Fens and coastal dunes, salt marsh and tidal creeks. Also includes information on Norfolk's rich history and unique plants and wildlife.
Guidebook describing 30 circular walks in the Cotswolds AONB of southern England. The graded routes are 4-12 miles long, visiting hill forts, long barrows and stone circles, picturesque villages and parts of the Cotswold Way National Trail as circular walks. Includes information about history, geology and wildlife encountered along the routes.
The excellent digital mapping supplied by Anquet is available in a range of formats. Probably the most popular with walkers are their digital format and detailed OS Explorer maps at 1:25k scale. OS Landranger 1:50k maps are also available although showing less detail. Harveys produce Superwalker maps at 1:25k and British Mountain Maps at 1:40k both offering a different style of mapping to the more familiar OS maps. Harvey maps often include additional detail, including more paths, not shown on OS mapping.
