- Start at the National Trust car park at Badbury Hill. Walk out of the car park to the road and turn immediately left into a field. Follow the right hand field edge for about 200m, cross the road with care and go over the stile and take the footpath (signed Gt Coxwell 0.5 mile) and follow this downhill. Continue along the path alongside a plantation and then turn left over a stile into the plantation. Follow the path over a footbridge and stile, and then turn left along the field edge. Take the stile left to the Great Barn.
- Leaving the barn, turn right along the road and walk through the village until you reach Puddleduck Lane on the right. Turn right down Puddleduck Lane and continue past houses and through fields along a track. Continue along the track through the gate. Go through a second gateway and then at the third gateway turn right through the farmyard at Colleymore Farm.
- At the main road cross straight over and continue down the track, turning right at the T-junction. At Brimstone Farm continue straight on through the yard and onto Oldfield Farm, the next farm.
- At Oldfield farm follow the path round the left hand side of the farm, then turn right off the tarmac track onto a rough track towards a line of cottages. Bear right at the cottages and continue through a gate and over a small field. At the next gate turn sharp left along the field edge. After following the field edge, alongside Rowleaze Wood, the path cuts across the corner of the field to a plank bridge over a ditch. Cross this and also the second plank bridge. Continue following the edge of Oak Wood for about 1km.
- At the end of the wood turn left and follow the path through a gateway and diagonally across the field. At the next gate take the stile on the right. Immediately turn right (due south) along the bridleway, following the blue arrows across a large field. Carry on through a pedestrian gate and continue straight on, following the field edge on the left. Go through a gate; continue in the same direction to another gate, then uphill over grassland Badbury Hill House is to your right. Cross the gravel track then continue uphill to a small gate in the hedge.
- At the top of the hill go though the small gate and turn right along a narrow road. After about 200m turn left at a junction, over a stile and follow the path due west along a field edge bordered by woodland on the right. The path enters the woodland beside a group of larch trees. Continue due west over first stile and at second stile turn left at wide junction of paths and go uphill, keeping to the main path back to the car park.
