This walk in South Gloucestershire starts from the market town of Thornbury, which lies about 12 miles north of Bristol. After parking locate the Tourist Information Office on High Street and walk north. Keep straight ahead into Castle Street. Where Castle Street bears right, take the track on your left. This track bends to the right and then follows a straight course northwards to Parkhill Farm. There are a confusing number of paths through the farm and the use of the OS map might be useful to avoid a trespass! The best advice is to follow the clear track between the farm buildings at the end of which you follow the path heading west with a small stream on your immediate right.

The path crosses the stream and enters a field (grid ref. ST625920). Turn left along the field boundary with the stream now on your left and continue to Pickedmoor Lane. Turn left along the lane and right at the next junction (grid ref. ST616923) and continue to a T-junction. Turn left into the village of Oldbury-on-Severn. Take the first footpath on the left. Cross the stream and turn right soon reaching a road.

Turn left along this road and almost immediately right following the signed Severn Way along the south side of Oldbury Pill to reach the shores of the Severn Estuary. The Severn Way bears left and follows the shoreline. Continue on the Severn Way for about 1.5 miles passing Oldbury Pill where the path deviates inland for a short section. Reaching the junction with the Jubilee Way (grid ref. ST582907), turn left inland to join the Rushden Lane Track which is followed to the road in Littleton-upon-Severn (grid ref. ST594899).

Turn left and after 200 metres take the footpath on the right. This is a continuation of the Jubilee Way. Initially an access drive, the path leaves the driveway where the drive bears right and continues across a field to a stile (halfway along the far hedge) and a lane (grid ref. ST600898). Cross the lane and continue eastwards over Sacks Hill and follow permissive path to reach a track (grid ref. ST613896). Bear left along this track, Bond Lane on OS maps, and continue to a lane just west of Mumbley's Plat. Walk left (east) along this lane to reach the T-junction with Mumbleys Lane.

The onward route of the Jubilee Way is opposite with the path following the northern edge of a golf course and later along the side of playing fields. The Jubilee Way turn sharp right (grid ref. ST633897). Follow the Jubilee way at this junction for a short way before turning left on a path that skirts a pitch (which is on your left). At the end of the pitch the path bears half left towards the club house from where a tarmac path leads back to Thornbury High Street.
