Where the road bends right, keep ahead downhill along a lane and at the bottom cross a footbridge over the River Rase by a ford. Keep ahead along a tarmac track which will lead you uphill. Turn right at a public footpath sign (grid ref. TF169902) and continue along the right-hand edge of fields. At a field corner, follow the field edge to the left, pass through a hedge gap and keep along the right-hand edge of the next field. After about 50yds (46m), turn right up steps. Walk along the right-hand edge of a field and at the next public footpath sign turn right to continue along the left-hand edge of a field. At a T junction, turn left along a track and pass beside a barrier on to a road (grid ref. TF180895).

Turn left and after about 3/4 mile (1.2km), turn right through the gates of Kirmond Hall Estate (grid ref. TF177907). Walk along a straight tarmac track. Where the track bends right, keep ahead, at a public bridleway sign, to join another track, which keeps along the right-hand edge of a field. At the blue way mark sign, bear left through a gate and follow a path downhill through a shallow U shape valley. Keep by a wire fence on the left and to through a gate in the fence. Continue by the fence on the right and follow the path until in comes to a lane (grid ref. TF187925).

Turn left through the hamlet of Kirmond Le Mire. At a public bridleway sign, turn right along a track and pass in front of the church. At the T junction, turn left on to a track that curves right to keep along the left-hand edge of a field. Continue along this track downhill to a lane. Turn right and after about 1/4 mile (400m) turn sharp left at a public footpath sign (grid ref. TF172934) onto a path that heads across fields to a road. Cross the road and take the path ahead along the left-hand edge of a field. Go through a hedge gap and climb a stile. Now go uphill and make for the right-hand edge of trees. Bear left and climb another stile. Keep going along a track across fields. You will go past the right hand edge of woodland and where the track curves left, bear right off it Climb a stile on to a lane (grid ref TF160914).
