Cross Fell
Walking Guide and Walks
Cross Fell is the highest summit in the North Pennines, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The range is dominated by open moors which are dissected by deep dales. There are a few villages which often reflect the legacies of a mining and industrial past. Cross Fell, Great Dun Fell and Little Dun Fell are crossed by the Pennine Way long distance trail. In fact, Cross Fell is the highest point along this popular path. Apart from the three highest summits, the remaining mountains in the list are high points in an undulating moor.
