This Ben Chonzie circular walk starts from Loch Turret near Crieff in Perth and Kinross. The route follows the shores of Loch Turret north to pass and continues up the glen to pass Lochan Uaine. For much of way you have an excellent view ahead of Ben Chonzie. After the lochan the climb starts in earnest as you climb steeply in places onto the eastern ridge of Ben Chonzie which is gained north-east from the summit. The return route descends to cross Meall na Seide before continuing over Carn Chois from where a descent is made back to the start.

To reach the carpark by Loch Turret (grid ref. NN821264) leave Crieff on the A85 to Crianlarich following the brown signs for the Famous Grouse Experience. Turn right off the A85 following the signs to Loch Turret and the Water Works. Just past the distillery fork left on a road signed to Loch Turret. Follow this twisting road past the water works and up to the car park at Loch Turret.

From the parking area follow the track up the east side of Loch Turret. Continue to the end of the loch heading north-west with Ben Chonzie ahead on the skyline. The track fades and you should maintain direction keeping Turret Burn down to your left. Pass to the right of Lochan Uaine and start the steep climb up to the col on the east ridge of Ben Chonzie. Reaching the ridge turn southwest climbing steadily to the summit of Ben Chonzie using a fence as a guide. There is a wall on the summit from where you can enjoy the extensive views.

Leave the summit in a south easterly direction. The terrain underfoot soon worsens. After 600 metres veer to the southeast and continue across pathless terrain to the minor top of Meall na Seide (grid ref. NN779289). There is a path on the next section as you descend to a broad col and then climb again to the rocky summit Carn Chois. From here a track leads south-east passing below Beinn Liath which leads you back to the start.
